Bitter Pink Ginger Incense - by Scentsual

30 aromatically scented Japanese incense sticks, roughly 12cm each, and fragranced with plant-based aromas of pink ginger and florals. A small, flower patterned incense stick holder comes with this product, as depicted.

Junior ginger roots tend to be pink when picked, and are then marinated in sugar and vinegar to ferment. The outcome is a pickled pink vegetable, often served with sushi as a palette-cleanser. It's a traditional Japanese delicacy, so strikingly unusual: a contemporary twist on an ancient smoke cleanse ritual.

Despite the description above, the scent produced is not a pungent or particularly intense one, rather a sharp, sweet, zingy and uplifting fragrance. The refreshing scent of sweet ginger and florals fills your space when burnt, cleansing you and your space with the sacred smoke, circling through the air, detoxifying your home. Incense smoke is a wonderful tool to cleanse your crystals with. Simply hold them or place on a surface, and waft the smoke around from the end of the stick, like a wand.

Top tips

- always have a window open so that old energy and stale air can escape, allowing newness to be breathed in

- you might like to set an intention as you light the tip of your incense stick - eg 'only energy vibrating with love and light is welcome in this space' or 'may this spoke fill my space with healing energy and give me motivation to finish my project.'

- always position your sticks in an incense holder. You'll need a beautiful star-studded wooden incense holder to catch falling ash. Click the link for ours.
